Thomas and I posing in front of the Columbia river. Right here in Astoria is where the Columbia meets the ocean, it is one of the most dangerous spots in the world. That is why the Cost Guard is stationed here to help the boats drive through. Also the Cost Guard trains there where it meets. The Astoria Tower! It is really cool, it tells the whole story when it is going up. It starts out with the Indian's, then Lewis and Clark and keeps moving up in tell our time.
The amazing men in uniform! They live on this boat, it is always docked in Astoria. The HUGE boat, this boat has a lot of stories to tell. These tell the stories of the boat. The stickers of the fish is how many fishing boats they have had to take down for illegal fishing. The snowflake stickers are for drug busts and the colors are the boats ranking in the military. The Coast Guard is amazing! But a lot of times not thanked the way they need to be, we often times do not hear about the amazing things they are doing and the people they have saved. These men and women wake up everyday not knowing what is going to happen. When fishing boats are docked and are safely off of the sea's storms, when hurricane warnings are blaring on the news... these men and women are suiting up to head out into the most dangerous place in the world. They are risking their lives to save the lives of others who were left to take the wrath of the ocean upon them. If you have never seen the movie Guardian you really need to so you can have a little taste of what they Coast Guard does. Thank you for always being there!
On the 4th Thomas and I went to the Kasville parade with Tenaya and Chad. It was really fun, but at the end of the parade two little kids who were in the parade we run over. It was really sad, one of them was life flighted. The other boy was not hurt to bad. But after the parade, everyone went to Thomas house and went swimming and had a BBQ. Then Thomas and I went to a demo. derby with katie and wacy, it was really fun!
